Evidence of huge asteroid impact

Geophysical anomalies and quartz microstructures If confirmed, the impact will be one of the largest after the Vredefort crater in South Africa (298km) and the Sundbury crater in Canada (250km) The Cooper Basin is a sedimentary geological basin in Australia. The basin is located mainly in the south west part of Queensland and extends into north eastern South Australia. It is named after the Cooper Creek which is an ephemeral river that runs into Lake Eyre. The massive asteroid that crashed into Earth left behind a large impact crater discovered the evidence of the rock and the researchers maybe the original crater the depth of the missing section it would follow crater deposits
